A Wonderful Tribute: Community Raises £4,227.50 for TMDF in Memory of Tom Donnelly

Our community has once again shown its incredible generosity, raising an amazing £4,227.50 for TMDF in memory of Tom Donnelly, a much-loved regular at The Pioneer Pub, and a great friend and supporter of our charity.

The total was raised during a Virtual Race Night organised by AFC Spinney’s main and reserve teams and hosted at The Pioneer in October. The evening was dedicated to Tom, who sadly passed away last year. His personal connection to TMDF made the event especially meaningful for everyone involved.

Landlady Nuala explained how the idea came about:

It hit everyone hard when Tom passed away. The boys wanted to do something positive in his name. Supporting TMDF made perfect sense.”

Tom’s family attended the event too, joining friends, teammates, and locals as they shared memories, placed their bets, and helped raise vital funds that will directly support families across Northamptonshire.

We also held a cheque presentation on Sunday 7th December at The Pioneer, joined by Nuala, our own Teresa McCarthy-Dixon, members of the Donnelly family, and the AFC Spinney football team, a lovely moment that captured the spirit of the evening and celebrated Tom’s lasting impact.

To everyone who took part, donated, organised, or supported the event in any way, thank you. Your generosity will go a long way in helping us continue our work across the community.

A fitting tribute to Tom, and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together.

TMDF gold heart
