The total walking distance of this event is similar to the Yorkshire Three Peaks, but with only a third of the climbing. With a total ascent of 1,060 metres, the Surrey Three Peaks offers a slightly more accessible option for those wanting take on a real challenge while still looking after their knees! The route starts and finishes in Dorking, taking in three of Surrey’s most iconic hills – Box Hill, Holmbury Hill, and county-top Leith Hill.
This is a group challenge, so whether you’re joining solo, bringing a staff team, or rallying friends or a community group, it’s an ideal adventure.
All groups are led by an experienced mountain leader, who will guide and navigate along the way. A safety support vehicle will be available in case of injury, providing a secure means to retire from the event if needed. Water refill points will be set up at two checkpoints along the route, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
Most participants complete the round trip in around nine hours, making this the perfect Southeast day trip with no overnight accommodation required (although you’ll definitely feel it afterwards!). It’s a brilliant challenge in its own right, or an excellent way to train and test your fitness for a bigger event.
