We are delighted to congratulate Councillor Mike Hallam, who has officially become the 786th Mayor of Northampton.
Mike was formally appointed at the Mayor Making Ceremony, which took place on Monday 18 May at the Guildhall in Northampton. Teresa McCarthy-Dixon MBE, our Founder and Operations Manager, and Steve Summers, Chair of our Board of Trustees, were delighted to attend and mark what was a very special evening for Mike, his family and the town.
We also extend our warm congratulations to Mike’s wife, Shannon, who becomes Mayoress of Northampton, and to everyone taking on civic roles for the year ahead.
Mike served as Deputy Mayor of Northampton during the 2025/26 civic year and has been a valued supporter of The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, championing our work across the local community. He represents Parklands Ward on Northampton Town Council and has strong local roots, having grown up in Parklands and continued to live in the area.
We are thrilled and incredibly grateful that The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation has been chosen as Mayor Hallam’s Charity of the Year. This means a great deal to us and is a very special recognition of our work supporting vulnerable people, families and communities across Northamptonshire.
We are really looking forward to working with Mike throughout his Mayoral year, helping to raise awareness of our services and the growing pressures facing many local people.
As part of his support, Mike will also be taking part in our Belmullet to Northampton Charity Cycle this August. This major fundraising challenge links the west coast of Ireland with Northampton and will raise vital funds to help us continue our frontline work.
Huge congratulations once again to Mayor Mike Hallam and Mayoress Shannon Hallam. We wish them both every success and a wonderful year ahead!
