As the school gates reopen across Northamptonshire, we’re delighted to be launching another year of our Schools Partnership Programme, a cornerstone of TMDF’s work that now supports over 90 Primary, Secondary, and Alternative Provision schools. By working hand-in-hand with school staff who know their communities best, we ensure families experiencing hardship receive the right help at the right time. From regular food parcels and breakfast boxes to school shoes and laptops, our aim is to give every child the support, dignity, and resources they need to succeed.
At the start of each school year, our Schools Liaison Officer, Jenna, works closely with our partner schools to sign up partnership agreements. Together, we map out the year ahead: schools plan their fundraising efforts, we schedule visits to assemblies so pupils and staff can hear about TMDF’s impact, and we prepare for upcoming food parcel distributions, with the next major one planned just before October half term.
This year, we are especially excited to invite schools to take part in our Intergenerational Stories Programme. This heart-warming initiative brings together students and older adults, sparking conversations across generations and preserving personal stories that might otherwise be lost. The programme not only strengthens community ties but also builds lasting bonds, and it all comes together in a special exhibition at the end of the school year.
With our partnerships renewed and our schools energised, we’re looking forward to another year of collaboration, compassion, and community impact. Together, we’ll ensure that children and families across Northamptonshire continue to receive the essential support they deserve.
