Providing essential supplies to over 103,000 Northamptonshire people in crisis and financial difficulty, since 2020.
Our Food Hub has supported over 103,000 people across Northamptonshire since 2020. This includes families from our network of 90 primary, secondary and alternate provision schools, and people supported by Northamptonshire mental health services including PCART, UCAT and N/STEP, the Northamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service, Northamptonshire Social Services, HM Prisons and Probations service and the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust.
We provide regular and emergency food parcels to children, families, and individuals across the local community, playing a vital role in combating hunger throughout Northamptonshire. Each parcel includes a range of long-lasting essentials, such as pasta, rice, cereal, and snack items. Whether someone is facing unexpected hardship, sudden crisis, or ongoing struggles due to the rising cost of living, our mission is to ensure that no one we support goes hungry.
While our food supplies are an essential lifeline for thousands of people, we do not want to leave them with only this. As an organisation we also want to provide long-term solutions and implement sustainable change for our communities, to ensure ongoing suffering does not have to be the reality for so many people. That’s why we provide a large network of wider community wellbeing services, to enrich and support multiple aspects of peoples lives. From providing quality school shoes and coats for local children, to cookery classes that teach transferrable skills about cooking on a budget – our services all aim to provide long term support to local people, so hopefully they wont always need to rely on supplies from the food hub.
Our food hub does not work directly with the general public. Instead, we take referrals from our existing partner organisations and recognised local support providers.
While our food supplies serve as a vital lifeline for thousands of people, we understand that true, long-term progress starts with addressing the root causes of hardship. As an organisation, we are committed to delivering lasting solutions and driving sustainable change within our communities, and we achieve this via a broad network of services and programs.
Our range of wider community wellbeing services and support programs all aim to enrich and empower local people across multiple aspects of their lives. Whether it’s ensuring children have access to durable and high-quality school shoes, or offering cookery classes that teach skills for cooking on a budget, our services are designed to equip people with the tools they need to build resilience and independence over time. By providing these opportunities, we want to create a future where no one has to endure ongoing hardship as their reality.
The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation are pleased to support The Food Aid Alliance who support the local community in many ways including: Food Banks, Food Aid, Food Club, Food Larder, Meal Provision Service.
For further information about any of these services, or for times, dates and locations, please download these documents.
Our Food Hub support is not available to the general public, however we will try to organise a food bank referral to another local food bank when possible, for people in emergency and crisis situations.
Our foodbank parcels are not available to the general public. We work in partnership with over 90 Northamptonshire schools, as well as other local organisations, to provide food parcels through these organisations directly to those who will benefit from them.
Our Food Parcels contain a variety of food items weighing in at between 13-15 kilos total. This includes foods such as pasta, rice, sauces, tinned goods, cereal and other snacks.
We run a schools partnership program, which provides a range of essential services to all our 90+ Northamptonshire School Partners. This includes the provision of our food parcels – if you are a school interested in joining this program, please get in touch via hello@mccarthydixon.org.uk.
Similarly, if you are looking to refer a client on behalf of a Northamptonshire Organisation providing welfare and social care services, please contact hello@mccarthydixon.org.uk for further information.
