Brought together older adults from our community with students from Northampton International Academy and Northampton School for Boys, giving the older participants the opportunity to share their life stories while the students listened, recorded and helped bring those stories to life.
Through a series of thoughtful interviews, students gathered memories of childhood, family, work, travel, challenges and life lessons, before shaping them into short written biographies for each older person to review and approve.
The project, which was generously funded by Northamptonshire Community Foundation, culminated in a public exhibition at Northampton International Academy, where families, friends, students and members of the Northamptonshire community came together to celebrate the stories and the people behind them.
This page now holds those stories as a lasting online archive. A place to preserve personal histories, to honour lived experience, and to continue sharing the voices of those who took part for years to come. We warmly invite you to explore the individual stories below and to discover the memories, wisdom and connections at the heart of this special project.
