We are excited to highlight the remarkable contributions of the dedicated team from Nationwide Northampton who recently volunteered their time to pack breakfast boxes for children in need. This initiative aligns with our belief that every child deserves the best possible start in life, and that includes access to nutritious meals.
Research shows that eating a healthy breakfast before school is linked to increased energy, improved concentration, better test scores, and a healthier body weight. These factors are vital for helping children reach their full potential. Our Breakfast Box Project aims to provide schools with monthly supplies of nutritious breakfast items, including dried fruit, snack bars, and fruit juices. These items are conveniently sized for classroom storage and can be discreetly distributed by teachers to students who may have missed breakfast at home. Each box costs £20 and is designed to meet the needs of a two-form entry school for an entire month.
Thanks to the hard work of the wonderful Nationwide Northampton team, we were able to pack an impressive number of breakfast boxes! With the support of volunteers like those from Nationwide, we can ensure that no child starts their school day without the nourishment they need.
