Our Minibus

Providing transportation to our clients

With the generous support of The Clothworkers Foundation and our fantastic donors and sponsors, our charity was able to purchase a brand-new 17-seater minibus in 2024, which we all week-round for loads of brilliant and essential activities across Northamptonshire.

The Collection & Drop-Off Service

Our charity runs three weekly social clubs, which you can read more about here. These clubs provide an essential opportunity for our members to come together on a weekly basis, building their social connections while also accessing a huge range of great activities and services.

However, for many of our members, getting to the clubs each week can be a challenge. Accessing public transport can be difficult sometimes, especially for people in rural areas or those living further away from major bus routes. Some of our members also have physical and mental health challenges and disabilities which may also make using public transport harder for them.

To make sure we can still support these people, and provide access to the vital opportunities on offer at our clubs, we provide a collection and drop-off service. This is available for any social club members who may otherwise struggle to reach us each week. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, we collect members from their homes one by one, and then drive them all to our social club location on Grove Road. At the end of the day when the clubs are finished, we drop them back home, right to their doorstep. In order to keep this service running in top shape, we do ask all passengers who can, to pay a small administrative charge. However, we’ll always be as flexible as possible for clients who may struggle with this.

Our team of staff and volunteers work closely with all our members, to make sure we’re always reaching everyone who struggles to reach us. We also have a fantastic driver, who is really friendly with our passengers and ensures we always provide a safe, efficient service!

Trips & Days Out

We want to ensure our clients can make the most of their local area, as often as possible. So a few times every month, we run trips in small groups to all sorts of fantastic local attractions, country parks, museums, tourist sites, shopping centres, activities, landmarks and more!

For many people we support, having access to these locations can be otherwise impossible if they don’t drive, or public transportation is a challenge. We feel that no one should have to miss out on the enriching opportunities available across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas. Our regular outings provide new, accessible opportunities to enhance people’s quality of life and build experiences, all while offering another opportunity for these individuals to socialise!

Throughout the year, we also run larger Days Out to attractions further away, for bigger groups. Though our clients love the regular trips around our local area, sometimes it can be great fun to see what’s on offer further afield! Several times a year, we run big Days Out to a range of fantastic attractions, landmarks and locations – anything from a Christmas Market to the Beach! Our clients always have a fantastic time, and it’s a vital opportunity for them to experience something they may otherwise not be able to.

Much like our Collection & Drop-offs Service, we do ask all passengers for our Trips and Days Out to pay a small administrative charge. But again, we’ll always be as flexible as possible with this, for clients who may be having a difficult time financially.
