In January 2023, Becky experienced a life-altering stroke that left her with severe complications and a permanent physical disability. As a result, she had to take indefinite leave from work, a sudden and deeply challenging change. Alongside managing the emotional and physical impact of her condition, Becky was left trying to navigate a benefits system she’d never encountered before.
Becky was unfamiliar with Universal Credit and didn’t know how to begin her applications for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). The stress of navigating complex forms while recovering from a major health event felt overwhelming and isolating.
That’s when she reached out to us. We worked closely with Becky, explaining the different types of support available and guiding her through each application step by step. We helped her articulate her experiences clearly and made sure the necessary evidence was submitted.
As a result, Becky successfully secured both PIP and ESA. These vital benefits are now supporting her as she adjusts to life with a disability, giving her the financial stability she needs to focus on her recovery and wellbeing. What was once a daunting and confusing process, became manageable and empowering with the right support.
