Stimpson Avenue Primary School is one of our valued school partners, working with us through our Schools Partnership Programme to ensure that no child or family is left behind in times of hardship. Through this collaborative system, our schools identify families in need, and we provide tailored, specialised aid to support them through difficult times. From food and essential items to comprehensive support services, we empower children and families to navigate crises and work toward lasting, positive change.
One Monday morning, Deputy Head Graham Trotter approached us on behalf of a family in urgent need. Mum, recently widowed and raising her children alone, had just been moved from emergency accommodation into a permanent property. The family had finally found some stability, but they had no furniture, no essential appliances, and very little food. The emotional weight of her recent loss, combined with the physical lack of basic living essentials, left mum feeling overwhelmed. As Graham shared:
Within the hour, our team responded. We were able to supply the family with an oven, washing machine, sofa, microwave, toaster, double bed, and a week’s worth of food, enabling them to settle in with comfort, dignity, and the practical tools needed to rebuild their day-to-day life. Graham explained:
This kind of rapid, human-focused support is at the heart of what we do. For families like this, a helping hand at the right time makes all the difference, and we’re proud to be there when it matters most.
