On November 23rd, 2024, TMDF hosted a vibrant community celebration at Kingsley Park Working Men’s Club, bringing together over 150 clients, volunteers, and community members for a day filled with joy and connection. The event featured live music by the talented Tommy Powers, also known as The Wexford Latchico and The Galway Boy, who kept everyone on their feet with lively tunes and dancing.
This gathering was a wonderful opportunity to unite individuals who often face social isolation, strengthening the sense of community and connection. It served as a powerful reminder of how vital our services are in improving the lives of those who need support the most.
The event, which ran from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, included a delicious Christmas dinner followed by an array of festive desserts. Later, guests enjoyed sandwiches, crisps, and refreshments. One of the event highlights was the raffle, which raised significant funds to support our charity’s local initiatives. Numerous Santas also made an appearance, handing out gifts and spreading festive cheer. We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended and donated, making the day a great success.
A special Table of Remembrance was set up to honor our beloved community members and friends who are no longer with us. Though they’ve passed, their memory continues to inspire and guide us.
We also had the privilege of hosting a KAVS presentation, recognising the exceptional efforts of our volunteers who hadn’t received their awards back in May. Congratulations to Liz Chapman, Wendy Murphy, Una Lennon, and Chris Lewis, with heartfelt thanks to Rachel McGrath for presenting the awards.
A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and trustees for their tireless efforts in setting up, serving food, and ensuring the success of the event. Your hard work truly made the day special! We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Kingsley Park Working Men’s Club & Institute for providing the venue and hosting us. Finally, a warm thank you to our special guests from the Northamptonshire Community Foundation – Rachel McGrath, Tina Cullen, and Katie Vickers – and Tony Ansell from Abington Park Café for joining us and supporting the event.
