The King’s Award
for Voluntary Service

In 2023, The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation was honoured to receive formal recognition for the remarkable efforts of our volunteers, from His Majesty King Charles III.

The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, equivalent to an MBE, is the highest recognition given to volunteer groups in the UK. This prestigious award celebrates exceptional organisations with the highest standards of service, who’s volunteers are the driving force behind making positive change in their communities.

Our impact

Thank you and your volunteers for your continued services in providing and delivering food parcels for people on probation. It has been a huge support and greatly received by many individuals who would otherwise struggle to have access to food and toiletries.

Since we have been working with the foundation, they have been instrumental in ensuring that none of our clients will be left without food. The volunteer-led service is a trustworthy, valued ally who have sustained support on an ongoing basis. Our social workers have been able to access much-needed resources in times where funding to local services have been drastically reduced.

Many thanks for supporting the many families in crisis. You have helped over 50 families, including many single adult families who are unable to work, along with many people with moderate learning disabilities, and mental health issues. Your support has been key in helping these families through extremely hard times.

The foundation started supporting our individual clients and refuges last year. It has provided food parcels to new clients coming into refuge who have no money or food. They provided Christmas dinners for clients in refuge last year which made a huge difference and brought joy to mothers and children at a difficult time.

Young people in care often have very limited budgets and what you and your team continue to offer them is essential and very much appreciated. You are making such a difference to people that have and are struggling to have food and everyday essentials in their cupboards. A huge thank you to you and your team. You guys are amazing.

In times of great need, TMDF have provided help and assistance to our most vulnerable families. This help is provided without judgement. Over the moon to announce that Paralympic Swimmer, Maisie Summers-Newton MBE has became a patron for The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation! Follow Maisie on Instagram.
